Privacy Policy
What BazaarBaazi collects, why, how long we keep it, and the rights Indian readers have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.
BazaarBaazi is independent media operated by the editor, Aditya Sharma. This policy explains what data the site handles when you read articles, subscribe to alerts, talk to the Telegram bot, or pay for an Insider subscription. It is written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and with the standards Google AdSense expects of publishers running its ad code.
What we collect
Reader analytics. When you load a BazaarBaazi page, our Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon records a pseudonymous page-view (URL, referrer, country, device class). Google Analytics 4 records a page-view event with a randomly assigned client identifier (the _ga cookie). Neither system stores your name, email, IP address in plain text, or any other directly identifying field.
Email opt-ins. If you join the BazaarBaazi newsletter or the NIFTY-NUMBER prediction tournament, we store the email address or phone hash you submit, the date of submission, and the source page. These records are kept in our PocketBase database, hosted on infrastructure we control.
Telegram bot. The @bazaarbaazi_bot stores your numeric Telegram user ID, your chat ID, and the tickers you have subscribed to via the /alert command. It does not store your Telegram username, display name, or message contents.
WhatsApp Channel. If you follow our WhatsApp Channel, Meta holds the relationship under their privacy policy. BazaarBaazi receives only aggregate channel statistics (follower count, view count, forward count). We do not see your phone number.
Payment data. If you subscribe to a future BazaarBaazi Insider tier, payment is processed by Razorpay. We receive only the payment reference, status, and the email address you used at checkout. Card numbers and bank details never touch our systems.
How we use it
- To understand which articles work and which fall flat, so we ship better.
- To deliver opt-in newsletters and the daily WhatsApp Channel post.
- To push
/alertnotifications when a tracked ticker is mentioned in a verdict. - To fulfil paid subscriptions and issue GST invoices where applicable.
- To comply with statutory requests from Indian regulators or law-enforcement, if any are received.
We do not sell personal data. We do not run lookalike advertising on a list of our readers. We do not share newsletter lists with any third party.
